Last Friday I had dinner with my sista in one of the most romantic restaurants I know in Jakarta (but then again, I don't actually know that many romantic restaurants in Jakarta). It's called the EMPIRE GRILL. Located on the 34th (or was it 35th?) floor of my sista office building, Menara Imperium. Just 20 floors above my sista office. The light was dim, the music was soft, the food was a bit expensive but GREAT, the view was SPECTACULAR (you can see almost all of Jakarta) and the floor was moving... what's that, you say? I said, the FLOOR was MOVING.The shape of the office building is round, hence the restaurant is also round and making it possible for the floor to move in a circular motion. But not the whole restaurant was moving, just the outer circle section of the floor right by the window walls of the restaurant. It wasn't moving that fast either. It moved about... I dunno... maybe 1-2 meters every 1 minute, more or less. The point is you can hardly feel it moving (imagine eating in a spinning machine). Anyway, this special feature of the restaurant, and the fact that there's no other tall building near enough to block the view, enables us to gaze upon Jakarta from the whole 360 Degree angle (if you sit there long enough). STUNNING. The good food just made the evening more perfect. We ordered the Lobster Bisque Soup, assorted BBQ Platter (I can't remember the name of this menu), Avocado Juice and Empire Punch. Everything was great. To top that, they served us a plate of assorted bread as a complimentary. Unfortunately, we didn't bring the camera so we just took what we could with my lame (but ever so useful) cellphone. Every minute, the background changes. ooo it's coollllllllllllllllllllllllllll....
